Abigail Cress Brown hails from Iowa. She’s the IO-WA part of the Ohiowa Promo name.
With a start in Minor League Baseball and then marketing, Abigail has been immersed in promotional products far before actually selling them. Her first job out of college was to run the gift shop for the Wichita Wranglers (AA-Royals at the time). She ordered novelties and apparel from many of the suppliers we actually work with now!
After that, she ‘hit the road’ as a traveling brand ambassador for Marketing Werks; promoting cell phones for Verizon Wireless, the benefits of pork for The National Pork Board, and then the PS3 and popular games for PlayStation.
When it came time to move to Ohio, she worked for Empower MediaMarketing (renamed to Powerhouse Factories temporarily during her tenure), where she managed experiential marketing tours and in-person events for Bush’s Beans, Meijer and Chiquita.
In every single one of these roles, she directly saw the impact of great promotional products… and also sometimes saw the detriments of the cheap stuff. She experienced the joy of receiving a branded uniform that was actually comfortable, and knew how distracting it was to wear the scratchy tees too.
With these experiences, it was the most natural next step to become immersed in promotional products and find the absolute best for her clients. This is an industry our family loves, believes in, and wants to share!
